June 26: Colorado's Wildfire Doubles

The wildfire in Colorado, dubbed the worst in the state's history, has doubled overnight and is now threatening sevetal communities as well as landmarks such as Pike's Peak and the Air Force Academy. Over 15,000 acres of forests are under fire, and only 5% of the Waldo Canyon fire is contained. Wind gusts have been carrying the flames past lines drawn to contain them. The blaze was sparked by a lightning, and has been burning since June 23.

Colorado accounts for several of the 29 large active wildfires being fought across the country on Wednesday. The bulk of them were in seven western states -- Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Montana, New Mexico, Arizona and California

June 25: Euro Cup Enters Final Stages
Arjun, Young Editor

We knew we were in for something special from the start of this year's Euro Cup - but not this. Surprise would be the tag word. We have our final four, and certainly the four best teams of the tournament. The Netherlands, 2010 WC finalists, as well as England and France, are already on their way home after a disappointing performance.

Spain vs Portugal : The words itself mean magic for thousands of fans, as Christiano Ronaldo runs rings around defenses and the famed Spanish midfield rains attack upon attack on its opponents. This latest chapter in their historic rivalry is without a doubt the most hyped and most watched. All eyes are on Ronaldo, and Portugal's hopes rest on him. Spain start as favorites based on their stellar past performances.

Italy vs Germany : This is an interesting matchup in which Germany are certainly the favorites. They have won every single match they played in this tournament so far, and are looked at as the main contenders to knock out defending champion Spain. How well Italy performs depends on how well they can bounce back from their indifferent group stage performance and penalty win over England.

Wow. That is a terrible fire. I have some family there and I'm really worried about them. They live almost exactly where the fire is going through.
