The Icicle Dagger: Part 2
I called Chuck and I was careful to be quiet. The moonlight shone right at Jake; Jake Beckett with a bloodstained icicle standing next to a miserable dying man, inflicting pain on him. He had a crazy look in his eye which made me quiver with fear. There was a bench next to the man that said “Black Jack was here”. Seeing the bench, we receded to the room afraid that he might look up and spot us.
I was still trembling and Chuck was too. Our roommate was a crazy serial killer!
I took another quick look down at Jake, and then a shiver ran down my spine. He was heading back to the room!
‘Jake is heading back to the room with his icicle dagger now. Act normal!’
‘Well it’s normal to shake like a Chihuahua when you know your roommate is a serial killer!’
‘Just act as if we never saw that’
He started biting his nails while I just sat on the floor.
‘Wait, but when did he get out of the room?’ Chuck wondered. ‘We were here the whole time.’
That was when I saw the light switch outside the bathroom. It was on!
‘He must have snuck out from the window.’
The bathroom door was shaking. Jake was coming in! We pretended as if we just finished the movie. We noticed bumps under the wet back of his shirt.
‘It’s the icicle dagger on his back!’ I whispered.
Chuck nodded. He sneaked into the shower and used his tools on it, then came out.
Jake went to the bathroom again with a few clothes; he takes a shower at night. That was when we had a chance to look through his side of the room but we had to with agility. At least that was what I thought until Chuck told me what he did with the shower door.
‘We don’t need to hurry; I messed with the shower door’
‘What did you do?’
‘Jake won’t be able to open the door for a while, no time to explain’
We looked for suspicious items. We took our time; the shower door problem was a good decoy to buy time. We found quite a few things - Jake’s suspicious items, the Icicle Dagger, phone book and information on the victims. We were now sure that Jake was the serial killer. We started looking for our phones; we had to call the police.
While we were looking, we heard a loud ‘THUD’ from the bathroom...
