I'm Always Looking At You Mama
Jul 25, 2012 By Greensalmon, 10
I’m always looking at you mama
All through the night
So then I get to see
When you turn left and right
Then you smile at me and wave
So then I wave back
You say it was a test
But not waving I lack
I’m always looking at you mama
When you think my eyes are closed
I’m always looking at you mama
When you never
Ever
KNOW
[Editor's note: We felt the author's explanation for the poem deserved to be mentioned here, as it makes the poem so much more meaningful. It describes her feelings for her mother who puts her to bed each night. In the second para, her mother tests if she is indeed asleep by waving at her -- and if she waves back, oops -- a sure giveaway!]
