This is an un-contest.

The holiday season is a time to reflect on our good fortune and to help those less fortunate than us. where we celebrate togetherness with our friends and families. Thankgsgiving is also the time where we think about people in the world who are less fortunate than us. Some folks do volunteering or other good deeds to help those people around them.

So this week's "un-contest" is about describing one good deed you did in the last one or two years. Even something small like making a card for your teacher counts. Describe how the people you helped felt after your good deed.

Everyone will be declared a winner - there is no loser in this contest!

Helping underprivileged kids in studies, playing the piano for senior citizens, and donating outgrown garments and toys to kids and families.

I know that this is not really a good deed to most people, but to me this is something really amazing. (Don't rip on me in your head or in the comments) I got a shelter animal that had not been visited in a while. She had been given up because she did not like the peoples new cat. And even though my cat and dog try to kill each other (it's under control) I still love them both and would never give them up for the world. The smallest act of kindness can be major for someone or something.

When I see people that are sad and alone I cheer them up by talking playing or doing something they like with them.

At my school, the teachers think that the Veterans are the most under appreciated, so, we compose colourful and touching letters, to make them feel proud. Sometimes, we even send bags with candy which have the cards and/letters inside. It makes me feel so happy.

Every Christmas my family go to the hospital and sing Christmas carols

It feels really great to sing for the people of old age and/or hospitalised. I love the feeling of it. I also used to do what you do for every holiday, as a fieldtrip, with my schoolmates at the school I used to attend. It was one of my all time favourite fieldtrips.

Dear Youngziners - We want to clarify here what we mean by a "good deed".

It has to be a act of kindness that is regarded universally as a good deed -- where everyone involved (and even those not involved) would feel happy to hear of your kindness and there is no ill will.

Sorry if this seems rude, I am just stating the truth.

Every nice thing you do is worth talking about. There is no cause to small to care for. Everything nice you do, no matter how small is major to someone or something. Even though it may seem useless, telling someone something nice you did inspires them to do something amazing. Reading every comment on here made me understand what the word nice means. And I hope you understand what I am saying and use the word good deed to mean more than the big things, because the smallest people are important to.
