A boy was walking on Halloween night, suddenly he saw bats flying everywhere and he got scared and fell down. He could not see anything. It was as dark as space. He felt a shiver go up his spine when he felt and "old" hang slither through his hand and grabbed it. She cackled so loud the bats were all gone! He pulled his hand away and heard a large howl w hen he was running towards the forest and when he made it there he saw a big creature on the rock.... It was a warewolf! Bats came over to him and he ran out of the forests and saw the witch. He ran and ran all the way to the city. They were still chasing him! He took a turn and he was at a dead end. The witch cackled, the bats screeched, and the warewolf howled ferociously. Suddenly they stopped and the all said " Happy Halloween!" It was almost daylight and they all vanished. Poof! Poof! Poof! They were all gone. THE END!! or is it??

Once upon a time, in a distant land there lived a group of ghosts singing there haunting song. The ghosts lived in a haunted mansion right near a pit, a bottomless pit! The ghosts were known as the dark spells! One tiger, the evil devil didn't believe in dark magic so he went off to the haunted mansion. When he arrived a bunch of crows and bats greeted him by pecking him . Then, the devil noticed the pit "how could I get across the pit" he thought. Then, he looked back at the crows and bats. "If those crows and bats can fly then maybe if I grip on tight to them then I can fly too" he said . He took out his rope soon hundreds of bats and crows were carrying him. Then, he forgot, he was going too high! "LET ME DOWN"! He yelled. At first he heard a leap he saw a shadow then he heard a loud "MEOW" he quickly turned around. A black cat was lying on the branch he was about to cut the ropes that were holding the devil then SLASH! the cat cut the ropes and the devil went falling down into the bottomless pit. The ghosts stopped there song and stared down into the bottomless pit and from that day on the devil was never seen again.

Long ago in a far away place, there was a graceful majestic and scary cat who liked to scare people out of their shoes. One day, kitty heard a noise. She got scared. She tried to curl, but no, it was a trick or treater. She tried to scare it, roar hiss scream. Nope, not the scare. In fact, kitty almost got scared! She spotted a haunted house. She went closer, closer, closer until she was too close to go back. But she spotted bats above. She ran away her tiny legs a blur. Until she saw her fear that wouldn't back down - a ghost! She ran but it got closer. She ran until she could run no more. She forgot something, she could scare them away. So she roared hissed and screamed until the ghost ran away. Now kitty doesn't scare kids - and doesn't get scared!

I had been seeing the black cat for a while now. Every day for the past week, when I'd look out the window, it was there. Perched on the tree branch right outside the window, just...staring at me. Then I'd look down for a moment, as if to clear my head, and when I'd look back up it was gone. Vanished. Just like a ghost. I ignored it. I hadn't been sleeping as much as I'd have liked recently. Work was getting to be more stressful than I had initially thought it would be. But my life wasn't all about work. After all, Halloween was approaching and my daughter, Bella, had asked me to dress up and go trick-or-treating with her. I quite wanted to go, actually. It had been a while since I had been out of the house to do something other than go to work. In fact, I was so anticipating leaving the house for a night that when Bella finally came into my house to ask if we could leave, I knocked my chair down in my haste to get up and grab my costume and leave.
My costume consisted of plastic vampire fangs- what else could I do? I had no time to plan a costume. Bella had dressed as her favorite character from her favorite television show - Tigger, the bouncing tiger. We visited house after house and I took joy in seeing Bella's face aglow every time we visited a new one. But soon they all spiraled into the same routine of doorbells, costumes, candy, doorbells, costumes, candy. Bella ran back from the house we had just visited and crammed a Hershey's Kiss into my hand.
"For you," she whispered, her cheeks pink from the cold. Her eyes twinkled as she waltzed to the next doorbell. I unwrapped the candy cautiously. I hadn't had any in at least seven years, when the doctor had told me I had high cholesterol. I really shouldn't be...I popped the candy in my mouth. Better than I had remembered. Much better. As a matter of fact, I would like some more. "Bella!" I called as she ran back from the house, "Your shoelace is untied. Please tie it. I don't want you to trip.”
“Okay! Hold.” She shoved her candy bag at me. I opened it, my hands shaking. What was wrong with me? I dipped my hand quietly into her bag and took out a handful of whatever I could grab before she jumped back up. I smiled weakly at her as she snatched her bag back. As she ran off again, I stared at the candy in my hand, my eyes wide with greed and disbelief. I quickly stuffed as much candy as I could down my throat, savoring every bite. My heart started pounding. My breath came faster. I dropped a handful of empty candy wrappers, staring as they floated softly to land on the ground. I quickly cleared my throat and looked up as Bella came racing back to me. “Lets go down that street next!” She ran off before I had time to respond. I turned down the street. My mouth dropped down to my shoes. I rubbed my eyes and stared at the house at the end of the road. I had no idea such an old house existed here. This was a regular, good, old-fashioned haunted house. A huge mansion, shingles black, with broken windows and an open door, creaking on its hinges as the wind swung it back and forth, back and forth. “Bella! We’re going home! It’s past your bedtime!” I was suddenly inexplicably afraid. “BELLA!” She had disappeared. My heart was pounding out of my chest, either from the boatload of sugar I had just ingested or the fact that my daughter had just gone missing. Without thinking, I rushed into the house, screaming her name at the top of my lungs. I started slamming everything around, looking for her, screaming, slamming furniture aside in my haste. I knocked over a trunk. With a hiss, it opened and…now I must be dreaming. Dozens of ghosts flowed out of the trunk like a waterfall. They started snatching at my clothes, my hair, anything they could get their phantom fingers on. “Dracula…” they whispered. “You took everything from us…”
“No, no…” I stuttered. “It’s just a costume…just a costume…”
*
I woke up on my back, staring up at a ceiling. My ceiling. I was back home. My wife was sitting next to me on the couch. She smiled. “How are you feeling, honey?” I bolted upright. “Bella! Where is she?” Bella ran into the room. “Right here daddy! Don’t worry! What happened?” She crawled into my lap and threw her arms around my neck. My wife smiled again. “He had candy. The doctor called it a sugar-induced haze, mixed with symptoms of overwhelming stress.” Bella looked up at me, her eyes wide. “Did you take my candy daddy? Well that’s ok. I forgive you.” She smiled.
Sugar-induced…I thought to myself while in my office later that day. Well thank god. I stared out the window. The black cat stared right back at me.

A black cat sat on the branch of a tree, staring at the sky. This was its least favourite time of the year- Halloween. As it was, humans jumped out of their way to avoid being near black cats every day, and during Halloween, black cats were considered plain devilish. The cat sat on a branch, licking its paws, when suddenly the moon came out from behind the clouds.
The cat stared at it- he'd seen this before, but today the moon seemed even bigger and brighter, and was milk-white. He decided he had to see this up close, so he jumped down from the branch and started walking towards it(as if that would lead him anywhere). In due time, he came upon a very creaky old mansion, with clusters of bats flying around it. A group of children had just left the house, bags filled with candy. The moon was even larger behind this house, and the cat felt a surge of confidence(if cats feel confidence, that is). He quietly slipped in through the door, and found himself staring at someone dressed up in a tiger costume, holding a large carved pumpkin.
The cat jumped in fear, staring at this strange person, and bolted out the nearest window. The strangely dressed person chased after him, yelling, "Wait! There are only so few black cats around here during Halloween. It's a sign!"
He did not give up chase. Both of them ran away from the mansion, the cat's intention of following the moon completely lost now. In fact, the moon had gone behind a cloud again, so now all he desired was to get away from the person behind him. He reached a graveyard. The person pursuing him stopped short. Ahead of them were a pack of ghosts dancing around, screaming words that didn't even make sense coming from ghosts, like 'Ooh' and 'Chocolate'.
The human bolted and the cat gave a loud, petrified 'MEOW!!'. The ghosts stopped and turned, and found the black cat. "A BLACK CAT! BAD LUCK!" They all screamed, which was pretty good for them because this was their first complete sentence yet. Then they were gone with the wind, sailing into the skies, still howling.
The cat, confused and exhausted from this unwanted exercise, climbed up the nearest tree and sat on a branch. Then the moon came back from behind a cloud, and it looked larger than ever. The cat gave a contented purr, and settled down on the branch, happy that his quest was complete, and stared at the moon for the rest of the night.
